Microsoft has just released a new Windows 11 preview build to users enrolled in the Windows Insider enter in the Dev channel.
Windows 11 build 22518 comes with plenty of improvements, though something that's worthwhile to learn in the very beginning is this release wouldn't be provided to ARM64 computers. Microsoft says it's all as a result of problem causing these devices to roll back when make an effort to install this build.
One of the greatest changes in this build is the debut of a new feature called Spotlight collection backgrounds, meaning users can now obtain a refreshed desktop once in a while.
Spotlight had been on the lock screen, and today Microsoft is bringing it towards the desktop in an effort to result in the desktop overall more dynamic with new wallpapers.
In addition, build 22518 also includes lots of other changes, together with a new access point for Widgets with weather, voice access, and the debut of WSL on the Microsoft Store.
New known issues
Microsoft has also revealed this build has a set of new known issues, including several aimed at widgets - this really is something that pretty much is sensible, especially given this build comes with improvements especially for this feature.
"Changing the taskbar alignment may cause the Widgets button to vanish from taskbar. Widgets board may not have the correct resolution when hovering the access point on a secondary monitor. The Widgets board might be temporarily blank. Links may not open properly when opening the widgets board using hover. When having multiple monitors, Widgets content on taskbar could get from sync between monitors," Microsoft explains.
You can download the brand new build from Windows Update if you're in the Dev channel, and make sure you signal feedback to the company around the additional features which are thing about this release.
